About me

I am a research fellow and a Ph.D. candidate in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) at the Department of Computer Science, Modeling, Electronics and Systems Engineering (DIMES) of the University of Calabria. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from DIMES in 2018 and my Master’s degree in Computer Engineering (Big Data Analytics and Data Science) from DIMES in 2020. I am a member of the Scalable Computing and Cloud Laboratory (SCALab) at DIMES, where I contribute to research and development projects. From July to December 2023, I was a visiting researcher at the Department of Computer Science and Technology of the University of Cambridge, collaborating with the Mobile Systems Research Lab. Previously, I was a research fellow from January to November 2021 at DIMES, working on a research project funded by the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 program, titled “ASPIDE – exAScale ProgramIng models for extreme Data procEssing“. Since 2022, I have been a contract professor at DIMES.

  • Visiting researcher at the Department of Computer Science and Technology of the University of Cambridge (July 2023 – Dec 2023). Supervisor: Prof. Cecilia Mascolo.
  • Contract professor of Computer Engineering at DIMES (Feb 2022 – today).
  • Research fellow at DIMES (Jan 2021 – Nov 2021). Research title: “In-memory techniques for efficient execution of data-intensive applications on Exascale architectures“.
  • Involved in the activities of the Research Project “INSIDER: INtelligent ServIce Deployment for advanced cloud-Edge integRation“, funded by MIUR as a Research Project of National Interest (PRIN – “Computer Science and Informatics”).

I am also a co-author of the book “Programming Big Data Applications: Scalable Tools and Frameworks for Your Needs” – World Scientific Publishing (2024) – which delves into models, programming frameworks, and algorithms for processing and analyzing large volumes of data.

Research areas
